Piagapo is a municipality in the province of Lanao del Sur. It comprises a total
land area of 26,007 hectares. The largest barangay in terms of area is Tangclao
with 2,580 hectares or 9.92% of the aggregate municipal land area. The smallest
barangay is Lumbatan which has only 301 hectares or 1.16% of the total municipal
area.
According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 23,903 people in 3,487
households.
Piagapo is politically subdivided into 37 barangays.
The municipality has a La Castellana Complex soil type.
The municipality has so many undiscovered potential tourist spots conducive for
recreation, health, rest and sightseeing of unique natural resources.
Poona-piagapo has potentials for agriculture because of its highly fertile soil
which is accessible through its 74.4 kilometer barangay roads.
The climate is classified as Type IV which is characterized by more or less even
distribution of rainfall throughout the year. Dry season is observed during the
months from January to March and maximum rain period is from May to October.
