Dolores is a 5th class municipality in the province of Abra. A serene town in the northern part of Luzon. A spanish word that means "a place surrounded by mountains." Its pristine charm, however, is just one of the things that endear this town to inhabitants and visitors alike.

According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 9,949 people in 2,106 households.

Dolores is politically subdivided into 15 barangays.
