Pudtol is a 4th class municipality in the province of Apayao.

According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 11,039 people in 2,066 households.

Pudtol and Santa Marcela, Apayao were originally territories of Luna before they gained their own municipal status.

Pudtol is politically subdivided into 22 barangays.

The climate is dry between the months of November and April, and wet the rest of the year.
