GENERAL INFORMATION

Baguio City which is also known as the Summer Capital of the Philippines or the City of Pines.

It is the only city in the Province of Benguet, occupies 55 square kilometers of hilly land about 1,500 meters high in the southwestern portion of the Cordillera Central mountain range in Luzon. About 250 kilometers north of Metro Manila.

The climate of Baguio City is cool and crisp and offers a fine respite from the dust, heat and bustle of the nearby lowland areas. Baguio is about 10 degress cooler on the average on any month than any place in the lowlands. The average temperature is around 20 degrees Celsius. It seldom exceeds 26 degrees Celcius at its warmest, and drops to as low as 15 degees Celsius in the colder months. Lately, however, with recent residential, commercial and industrial developments, many pine trees have been cut down that the City of Baguio is no longer as cool as it used to be.
